The brief

We are looking to employ a landscape gardening contractor who can assist us in delivering our modern outside space mental health environment scheme's that represents the high standards that are set at the Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust.

The scope of these designs will be to create a park like space that will produce a therapeutic/healing environment.

Within these designs we aim to install new physical activity areas complete with external gym equipment to promote physical exercise and also install areas of flower beds to support the therapeutic activities such as grow your own initiatives.

Please find attached a detailed specification and photos of a scheme that was completed last year and of a similar standard we are looking to reflect.

The proposed scheme is to take place at two of our sites and they are at the Moorside Unit which is situated at the Trafford General Hospital and the Rivington Unit which is situated at the Royal Bolton Hospital in the Greater Manchester area.

We will be looking at refurbishing one of our gardens at the Moorside Unit and two gardens at the Rivington Unit.

Each Unit will be on separate tenders.

The overall goal of this project is to provide an external environment that promotes a sense of calm and safety this greatly enhancing our service users experience during their stay
