The brief

The London Borough of Barnet is seeking for the supply of Appropriate Adult Services to safeguard the interests of children and young people who come into contact with the criminal justice system and/or are detained or questioned by the police.

This service is for young people aged 10 to 17 inclusive, where a parent or guardian is unable or unwilling to attend and support; and the winning bidder will be expected to liaise closely with the council's Youth Offending Team, local police and other necessary agencies.

The successful provider(s) will be responsible for providing a 7 day per week Appropriate Adult provision between the hours of 8.30am to midnight weekdays, weekends and all Bank Holidays, as defined by the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (1984) and its Code of Practice.

The Agreement will commence in July 2019 for a period of 3 years, with the option to extend for a further year.
