The Jo Richardson Community School opened in 2002 and was the first new secondary school to be established in Barking and Dagenham for over 40 years.

We moved to Castle Green in September 2005 into purpose-built state of the art facilities.

JRCS is a community school in the true sense of the word, benefiting from all the sports, social and educational facilities available at Castle Green.

Our aim is to ensure that every one of our students is fully equipped and experienced to face the challenges of their chosen pathway.

The successful Supplier will be required to provide cleaning services at The Jo Richardson Community School.

The tender project is seeking to appoint a Supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for the school and nursery / children's centre.

The high quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for the pupils, staff and facility users.

The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful Supplier to operate to at all times, is being able to provide a school that is fit for purpose and that the Supplier is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification.

The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 22.10.2018 for three years with an option to extend for a further 2 years and will be fixed price in nature, with the Supplier invoicing the Client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis.

It should be noted that the successful Supplier will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.

At present there are 21 cleaning staff (plus 2 vacancies) employed at the school.

The cleaning service at the moment in managed by the Client.

The majority of the cleaning staff are members of the LGPS; 4 staff have opted out.

Please be advised that the Client has a minimum requirement for a Supplier's employers liability, public liability and professional indemnity insurance of 5 000 000 GBP.
