West Essex Tier 3 Weight Management Services - Market Engagement

West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (WECCG) is inviting suitably qualified providers to attend a market engagement event which will inform the West Essex CCGs intention to procure Tier 3 Weight Management Services for its patient population.

West Essex CCG has a population of approximately 315,000.

It consists of 32 GP member practices that are working to ensure the local population has high quality healthcare services which are sustainable.

Tier 3 Weight Management Services provides the link between Tier 1 and 2 environments and population-wide services and lifestyle interventions, and Tier 4 Specialist Bariatric Surgical Services.

Increased weight and obesity presents a major challenge to the current and future health of the local population.

Higher body mass index (BMI) is associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality from a range of conditions including hypertension, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and several cancers.

It also contributes to increased social care costs.

This service seeks to provide a safe and effective high quality weight management service which supports patients to achieve clinically significant weight loss through safe and sustainable means.

The format of the event will be 1:1 discussions with interested providers which will take place on Tuesday 19th November between 10.00am - 1.00pm.

Providers will be allocated a 30 minute slot following the registration deadline on Thursday 14th November at 12noon.
