The University has a requirement for the supply of a large scale Student Accommodation to the University of Essex in Colchester.
The quantity of rooms is anticipated between 50-300 per annum initially in a location close to the University Campus, preferably within 2 miles distance from the University to enable the full campus experience and in doing so, satisfying the following qualifying criteria needed:- • Reasonable access to the University Campus for students for a.
Lectures b.
Health and Well being c.
Events & Entertainment d.
Library services for evening study e.
Other associated University Services • Consideration of whether the provider is able to provide single gender and culturally diverse residences • Networking with other students in the Accommodation for studies and provision of indoor communal space to provide students with an area to socialise and study. • Service provision for student well being facilities The amount of rooms we will require may be affected by (list is a guide and not exhaustive) :- • The intake of students for the year requiring University provided Accommodation • University's own plans for additional accommodation being finalised and built • The expansion of the University as a whole creating the additional need • Price and availability of the providers rooms Each room must be of the best possible quality and comparable with a range of UoE accommodation ie. en suite/shared facilities.
Service levels must at least meet the standards set out in the ANUK Code of Practice in order to maintain the Universities status as a leading provider of University Accommodation in the UK.
