The purpose of this contract is to consolidate the existing supply of telematics by two suppliers into a contract for the provision of both tracker and camera equipment by one sole supplier.
We currently operate 326 vehicles/plant items: Small cars - 49 Medium cars - 7 Large cars - 3 People carriers - 8 Standard minibuses -14 Accessible minibuses - 38 Vans - 77 Vans over 3.5t - 0 Land Rovers - 4 Pick-ups - 8 Mobile libraries - 3 HGV's - 28 Plant / Specialist items - 87 (including 35 mowing machines, 10 sweepers and other items of small plant) This fleet is made up of both leased vehicles and vehicles which are owned by the Council.
Vehicle which are leased have a variety of lease hire periods which will need to be accommodated within this contract.
These vehicles will require either: • Trackers only • Cameras and Trackers • No cameras or trackers initially but possibly at a later date as part of a roll-out programme The fitting of tracker and camera equipment will be authorised and co-ordinated by the Fleet Operatons Team.
Where possible we will arrange for multiple vehicles to be available at one agreed location for the work to be carried out.
During the life of the contract, there will be a requirement to add trackers and / or cameras to new vehicles.
Trackers / cameras from vehicles being returned at end of lease must be removed prior to the vehicles being sent back.
New vehicles will require trackers and / or cameras fitting.
All trackers and cameras must be removed from vehicles at the end of this contract period regardless of how long they have been fitted to a vehicle.
The contract period is 4 years plus an option to extend 1+ 1 years.
The contract period applies to the overall calling off of equipment and not the contract period per camera and tracker.
