The brief

The Kensal Canalside Development Infrastructure Funding (DIF) Study and Transport Study– purpose and scope The Council is commissioning this study to provide evidence to support the Local Plan Partial Review (LPPR) strategic site allocation for Kensal and the Kensal Canalside SPD which will be taken forward subsequently.

This brief covers the study objectives, the key approach, programme and deliverables.

It also covers the management and resources required to meet the deadlines.

The transport study will inform the DIF and the Transport chapter of Kensal Canalside SPD and Transport Assessments prepared to support future development proposals within the Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area.

The DIF will provide a greater understanding of the scale, type and costs of infrastructure required to support the proposed level of development at Kensal Canalside.

The work will test a number of different development scenarios, identify the infrastructure requirements that arise from each and test the viability of delivering this infrastructure and affordable housing in each case.

Decontamination requirements and costs will need to be identified as part of this study.
