The brief

Dorset County Council is seeking a single provider for the inspection and maintenance of PE, Sports, Gymnastic Equipment, Mini Trampolines and Trampolines, including the option of direct supply, plus the inspection of outside play equipment.

Schools have a responsibility to ensure that all equipment used in maintained in a safe condition, inspections are currently carried out on an annual basis (where facilities are available to the public inspections are carried out three times a year).

The Framework will provide a full comprehensive service and maintenance program that reflects the usage of the equipment and the establishments.

With the Supplier providing a certificate of inspection to the establishment concerned at the end of a site visit.

The main users of the Framework will be Schools and other educational establishments however it will be able to be utilised where needed by other Councils in the Southwest and Registered charities and parish councils in Dorset which have taken on responsibility for youth centre provision from the Council: http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/registerhomepage.aspx
