The brief

The service is a Learning Disabilities Social Inclusion Service.

The service works with people with learning disabilities to provide ready access to a range of community-based activities that are meaningful, age-appropriate and draw on peoples' interests.

The service also builds on people's strengths and develops their independent living skills.

For some people this will mean having access to good quality, accessible information about what is available locally, whilst others may need additional support to access a programme of activities, groups and leisure opportunities.

Key outcomes of the service are, but not limited to, for people accessing the service; • to increase social confidence • to build relationships with peers and develop interests that can be sustained independently • to work towards maximising independence and reducing support needs • to improve health and wellbeing • to be engaged in meaningful activity • to have increased choice and control • to be supported in a person-centred way and to be treated with dignity and respect • to be supported to access the service as independently as possible - this may involve some initial support or training The estimated total value of this contract is £405,000 based on £81,000 per annum.

The initial contract period is for 24 months with the option to extend the contract period for three (3) additional periods of not less than 3 months and not more than one (1) year each.

The contract was awarded to the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) on the basis of the highest scoring quotation based on quality 80% and cost 20%.
