The brief

Notice summary: Adding air quality impacts to the UK TIMES energy model.

UK TIMES is a model of the UK’s energy system from 2010-2050.

It has emissions factors for greenhouse gases.

We would like to extend the UK TIMES energy model to: 1.

For any given scenario, present the total UK emissions of NO2, SO2, PM10 and Ammonia from all modelled sectors and the aggregate financial impact of those emissions.

Please see the specification which will show the format for the calculations which are mostly expected to already exist as a result of previous work by DEFRA and is a standard output of UK TIMES.

2.

Provide the option of taking into account that financial impact when the model chooses its solution for a scenario.

The outputs of the procurement will be a version of UK TIMES with this capability.
