The brief

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT (BCHC) provide a range of prison healthcare services in conjunction with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Foundation Health Trust ( BSMHFT) covering primary and secondary healthcare on the prison site at HMP Winson Green in Birmingham The above contract expires in November 2022 with the Commissioner re-tendering the service prior to this date.

The service is for an on-site General Practitioner (excluding out of hours) and is to provide a full GP service with 'home visits' (i.e. cell and ward), within the site confines and regime of the prison.

Potential providers must have CQC status with GP's licensed by the GMC and with RCGP Stage 1 desirable for this service.

The contractual period for the GP service will be from Nov 20-22 with up to three optional years.
