As part of the House of Commons Service's efforts to reflect the diversity of the UK's population and support people to experience working in Parliament, we run a paid nine-month internship programme, The Speaker's Parliamentary Placement Scheme.
The SPPS is targeted at people who might not have access to Parliament via traditional routes, eg. from marginalised or under-represented groups.
The Scheme provides access to Parliament via work experience as an assistant within the House of Commons Service, Members of Parliament's offices, workplace visits and a comprehensive learning and development programme.
