Breckland District Council and South Holland District Council
Breckland Town Delivery Plans
Breckland Council are seeking to engage a specialist consultancy to commission a package of action-oriented delivery plans for each of the District's key market towns - Attleborough, Dereham, Swaffham, Thetford and Watton and the surrounding areas that the towns serve.
Combined, these plans should complement and interrelate to each other, as the anchors to the District's overall approach to environmental, economic, and social development.
Taking into account the potentially significant changes brought about by the global pandemic, the plans will contain new and refreshed project proposals to support environmental, economic, and social development within each town, based on an assessment of the latest available evidence.
Therefore, the brief for this work has a triple focus: developing a substantial and robust evidence base; visioning and capturing the shared aspirations across lead partner organisations; and translating vision and evidence into tangible and fundable delivery plans.
The project aims to drive forward the agenda for the Council and partner organisations to deliver inclusive growth, in line with the sub-regional priorities identified through the Norfolk and Suffolk Economic strategy.
That is to support future well-connected places with a high performing productive economy, whilst ensuring inclusive growth in towns and settlements along growth corridors.
Therefore, the intervention, through providing town delivery plans, will lead to investment opportunities in both growth areas and town centres and support the development of key sectors that will ultimately drive economic long-term growth in the district.
