The brief

Birmingham Women's NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of health care services in the West Midlands.

Located in Edgbaston, South Birmingham the Trust provides a range of services to around 50,000 women a year within the local catchment area and throughout the West Midlands and beyond.

The key services provided include Maternity, Gynaecology, Fertility medicine, Neonatal Care (Level 3) and Genetics.

The Trust is one of only two specialist Women's Hospitals in the United Kingdom delivering 8000+ births on a single site.

The Maternity services provided include the following: Perinatal Centre, Regional Fetal Medicine Centre and a co-located midwifery led birth centre.

The hospital also houses the Regional Genetics Service and the Regional Antenatal Screening laboratory, and both are the largest of their kind in the country.

The Trust is looking to procure a courier service to provide support to its various clinical departments.

Currently there is an in-house distribution service which operates a round robin sample collection service in the mornings, and an internal post service.

However outside of these services, the Trust has a requirement for the collection and transportation of samples and general packages to fixed and variable addresses throughout the UK on a same day delivery basis.

The Trust is seeking to procure a courier service against Lot 4 - Delivery of Dangerous/Hazardous Goods and Lot 1 Same Day of Crown Commercial Services (CCS) framework RM1006 - Courier Services.
