The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a suitably qualified vendor of consumer entertainment and information platforms to work in partnership with the Trust.
The Trust considers that the requirement is innovative and relates to products that are not available in the existing market.
Accordingly the Trust is keen to work with a partner to develop an innovative product to satisfy this requirement.
The ambition is to produce a patient information and entertainment platform delivering patient tailored content over wireless infrastructure to mobile devices within the Trust.
The Trust has extensive experience developing electronic patient systems and integrating disparate systems.
We wish to leverage this expertise to work with a partner in developing a tightly integrated solution connected to our patient record to improve patient experience.
The partner vendor is expected to bring several areas of expertise and resource to the contract: • Proven experience delivering multi-media entertainment via mobile devices. • Existing licensing arrangements for movies, television, UK sporting events, radio, magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks. • Software development human resource to work alongside Trust staff developing the product. • Expertise in system integration. • Service innovation. • Capital resources. • Business development expertise.
It will be a requirement of this contract for the system to be multi-lingual supporting as a minimum English.
Additional key languages to be supported, amongst others, will be the following: Polish; Urdu; Bengali; Punjabi; Gujarati; Kurdis (Sorani); Romanian; Portuguese and Arabic.
It will also be a requirement of this contract for the system to be managed by a content management system and for the system to be capable of presenting third party information using industry standard formats (HTML5, Common Video Codecs, Common Audio Codecs etc.) The Trust intends to use the Innovation Partnership procedure for this procurement process and is wishing to enter a long-term partnership with an organisation to develop a new patient focused information and entertainment platform.
