The brief

Christ Church Sport is the professional service responsible for the delivery of sport and physical activity opportunities and for the management of the University sports facilities.

Our aim is to provide a high-quality, progressive and inclusive, sport and physical activity offer to the whole University community.

The University Sports Centre was opened in 2009 and is now in its seventh year of operation.

It is a modern, high quality facility which has an eight court sports hall with a dividing sound proof curtain, a fitness gym, studio and a performance analysis room (classroom).

Activity in the University Sports Centre sports hall consists of academic use during the day on Monday to Friday and Students’ Union sports team practices in the evening and at weekends.

There is also some recreational student and staff sport in the facility but this is limited due to the significant amounts of academic and sports team bookings.

Work is underway to create a bespoke treatment room at the University Sports Centre, and it is envisaged that this space, along with access to the existing first aid room and exercise facilities will become the base for a physiotherapy and sports therapy service.

Work is expected to be completed in July 2016.

Christ Church Sport is seeking to work with an established provider to develop a comprehensive service, principally for the University community, that offers cost effective diagnosis and treatment to students, staff, members and other customers.
