The brief

1.0 Introduction 1.1 As part of a collaboration initiative across the East Midland Region; The Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire wishes to undertake a compliant EU tender exercise to establish a Framework Agreement for the provision of service to supply waste collection & disposal services and confidential shredding for a period of 2 years with an option to extend 24 months in annual increments (for all LOTS) from January 2017.

At this stage we are only looking at a service delivery model for • Nottinghamshire Police • Northamptonshire Police • Leicestershire Police • Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service 1.2 The primary location for delivery of these services shall be Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.

1.3 It is the Lead Commissioner’s intention to enter into a Contract for the following Lot LOT Descriptions 1a Collection and Disposal of General Waste and Trade Waste [Definition: Lot 1(a) – Waste Food, Food Packaging, Polystyrene and Other Miscellaneous Waste] 1b Collection and Recycling Services including Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) and Glass [Definition: Glass and Glass Cans recycling, General Recycling, Plastic Recycling, Paper Recycling (Non Confidential) and Cardboard Recycling] 2 Confidential Shredding On-Site including A&E packaging [Definition: paper based waste, photographic paper, clothing , A&E packaging (with and without plastics) 3 WEEE – recycling, recovery and destruction [Definition: Forced owned ICT equipment, WEEE equipment disposed of by the IS department, appliances “white goods”, WEEE equipment disposed of by the facilities / assets department, seized / recovered mobile phones and electronic devices and electrical equipment from cannabis]
