The brief

Devon & Cornwall Police is signed up to the MIND Pledge on Mental Health and as such committed to honour and implement the actions required to make the workplace a better environment to support those with mental ill health, together with reducing the stigma and raising awareness.

The wellbeing of staff is a prime consideration and due to the stressful nature of the policing environment have introduced a Peer Support scheme.

Following on from a successful pilot scheme to implement a Peer Support service into the organisation, a bespoke training scheme has been designed, developed and delivered to Family Liaison Officers/Co-ordinators (FLO/FLC) within the Crime Department to pilot a welfare programme that assists with the management of individual and environmental stress.

The FLO/FLCs are a highly specialised team who deal with families bereaved through murder or death from RTA.

The Southwest Police Procurement Department (SwPPD) who carry out procurement on behalf of the four regional Police Forces of Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire is looking for a supplier who can co-design, facilitate and deliver the initial bespoke FLO/FLC training cohorts, assist with the delivery of annual CPD/Workshops/Refresher training together with an evaluation and review of the service.

Devon & Cornwall Police has made a commitment to the process, however due to interest from other Police Forces and emergency services we are looking for a supplier who could potentially offer this service regionally/nationally.
