IIIF Development Work
This sits below the typical range for IT Services contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 36,449 valued IT Services tenders in our corpus.
The BFI National Archive is deploying an IIIF infrastructure to enable effective access to digital still image and document collections by BFI staff and BFI Reuben Library reading room researchers.
This infrastructure will not be made available on the open internet, but only to workstations within the BFI's physical network or via its remote working environment.
We are deploying an instance of the Universal Viewer in the first instance, though in time we may choose to deploy other IIIF viewers such as Mirador.
The BFI has a requirement to achieve tracking of interactions with the digital collections, both by BFI staff on workstations, and by Library visitors on BFI Library terminals.
This tender is for the development work to create and deploy a solution to achieve this, by (a) forcing users of our Universal Viewer instance (or Mirador instance if deployed later) to log in using personal credentials, and then by (b) storing a permanent log of each user's interactions with the digital media.
This log will be used to audit, quantify and understand usage of the digital collections generally, and of specific collections assets.
