The brief

Marketing Birmingham is the area’s strategic marketing partnership, which focuses on three business areas (i) investment, (ii) the visitor economy and (iii) strategic marketing.

The company is funded by the public and private sectors, and acts as an economic development and promotions agency undertaking long term Service Level Agreement contracts.

Clients’ examples include: Birmingham City Council; the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF); Finance Birmingham and Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership.

Alongside this, Marketing Birmingham also is commissioned on a project by project basis by clients across the Midlands areas.

These can range between consumer and business activity, across sectors and geographic markets - regional, domestic and international, with more focus on the latter two territories.

For more information please visit – www.marketingbirmingham.com The aim of this project is to provide market intelligence on the profile and demographics of visitors to Birmingham and Wolverhampton, their motivation to visit, sources of information they have used to research and plan their trip, the most popular and well used aspects of the area's visitor offer, visitor satisfaction and visitor expenditure.

The project outputs are required to inform the strategy, positioning and tactics of (i) Marketing Birmingham in its work to promote and develop Birmingham’s Visitor Economy as required via its Service Level Agreement with Birmingham City Council and (ii) Wolverhampton City Council in its work to promote and develop the visitor economy in the city.

This contract is being managed by Marketing Birmingham.

The project is being delivered for Marketing Birmingham and Wolverhampton City Council, which is a project partner.
