Major highway and capacity improvement works at Dunball Roundabout, near Junction 23 of the M5 in Somerset.

The Authority will use the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract for this work.

The objective of the Authority is to deliver the following outcomes: • Increase capacity of the existing Dunball Roundabout, which will contribute towards the release of both Employment and Residential Developments in the wider Bridgwater area • Provision of additional facilities for non motorised users along the A38 corridor • Construction to be undertaken with least possible disruption to travelling public, and adjacent frontages, whilst still being undertaken with the highest priority being given to Health & Safety.

Whilst the Authority is planning on entering into contract for the proposed work at Junction 23, there is also a desire by the Authority include the option of additional highway work in relation to the A38 MRN corridor within Somerset, which may include the following: • Major highway and capacity improvement works at Edithmead Roundabout near Junction 22 of the M5. • Junction improvements at Cross. • An improved crossing at the A38 Strawberry Line crossing on Shute Shelve.

This additional work on the A38 MRN is at the sole discretion of the Authority and is by no means guaranteed.
