The brief

Under the revised Victims' Code (published in October 2015), services must assist victims of any criminal offence (even if that criminal offence is not notifiable under the National Crime Recording Standards).

Enhanced entitlements are available to victims identified in the priority categories outlined in the Victims' Code; Victims' services must provide services that satisfy the requirements of the EU Directive 2012/29, establishing the minimum standards on the rights, support and protection for victims of crime (in particular Articles 8 and 9).
