The brief

The objective of the Service is to support and facilitate the Service Users with a visual impairment to meet their Individual Outcomes around well-being and independence.

The England Vision Strategy 2018 - 2021 forms an integral part of this Service Specification.

The Service Specification sets out the Authority's requirements in relation to the provision of services for child and adults with visual impairments.

The Council requires that: Service Users have a strong sense of being in control of the nature and delivery of the Service in order to meet their Outcomes.

The Service is able to respond flexibly to individual Service Users changing needs and issues on a day-by-day basis.

Hartlepool wishes to work in partnership with all providers in delivering a high quality of care to its Residents.

The aim is to maximise the use of available resources by establishing longer-term, more integrated relationships with service providers
