Redisher Wood Bridge Refurbishment 2018, Ramsbottom
Redisherwood Bridge is located in rural area with restricted access off Redisher Lane (off Bolton Road), Ramsbottom and carries Public Footpath No°14 across Holcombe Brook.
The Bridge is a single span masonry arch structure with an overall span of approximately 2.8 m and an overall width 1.45m.
The works required include (but are not restricted to): • Site clearance (including saplings and trees within 5m of bridge superstructure and training walls). • The taking up/down of masonry training walls and rebuilding along existing lines with a maximum retaining height of 2.1m. • The taking up/down/repair spandrel walls. • Construction of squared random rubble stone parapets to bridge • Provision of timber parapets to training walls • Masonry repairs, pointing and pressure grouting of existing abutments and arch ring. • Working at heights of up to 2.1m above, in and about, and adjacent to a watercourse (Classed as main river by the Environment Agency)
