Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Market Engagement
This is a large award for Education & Training — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 23,516 valued Education & Training tenders in our corpus.
NHS England is seeking to engage with potential suppliers to develop the specification and requirements for accreditation of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory training.
Potential suppliers should note that there is no commitment to running a tender a this stage.
The Secretary of State will publish a Code of Practice, which will offer guidance to employers about what training will satisfy the requirement of the Act.
The Code of Practice will outline the minimum standards for training.
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is the government's preferred and recommended package to support registered providers to meet the legislative requirement and it meets all of the standards set out in the Code.
The training is standardised a package which covers the essential capabilities required by all staff, and it was co-produced with people with a learning disability and autistic people and is required to be co delivered.
NHS England wishes to explore options regarding accreditation of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism to meet the requirements of the code of practice.
We are looking to work with suppliers to develop the requirements, altough there is no commitment to tender at this stage.
We would like to see a robust, co-produced and co delivered solution, that is sustainable/self-sustaining and imposes minimal burden on the system.
We invite, experts, potential suppliers and stakeholders to attend an event to help develop our thinking.
As specified within the code of practice, and as Oliver's Training is cascaded across England, it is important to assure the quality of the delivery of the training as well as ensure trainers are trained and approved as part of a standardised process and that approved trainers maintain fidelity to the training materials and values.
To facilitate this, we are exploring options to commission accreditation of the training.
This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioner's intention.
It is our intention to hold a market engagement event.
At the event we will discuss our plans and consult with parties interested in potentially bidding to lead the design, development and delivery of an accreditation process for The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
The event will take place on Tuesday 24 September 2024 15.00-16.00 online through MS Teams.
The process will also provide an opportunity to network with others and, should you wish, to signal your interest to work collaboratively with any other organisations.
Deadline for registration is Monday 23rd September 2024 16:00.
Maximum of 3 attendees per organisation.
