The brief

The Council wishes to appoint a single manager to manage a passive global equity mandate which will be split between tracking broad UK and global market cap weighted indices (e.g.

FTSE All Share and FTSE All World) and a broad, non-market capitalisation, fundamentally weighted global equity index (e.g.

FTSE RAFI 3000).

The key mandate parameters are flexible, but the following provides a broad outline: • One part of the mandate will be allocated to tracking both UK and global market capitalisation weighted equity indices in proportions yet to be determined. • The second part of the mandate will be allocated to tracking a fundamentally weighted global equity index whose constituents will cover all global regions and sectors (e.g. the FTSE RAFI 3000 Index). • The initial value of the overall mandate is expected to be in the region of £400m; the split between market capitalisation and fundamentally weighted indices has yet to be determined. • Candidates must be able to comply with the appropriate LGPS regulations The Council reserves the right to alter the value of the funds awarded, both at outset and at an unspecified point in the future.
