The brief

Daventry District Council has applied for full planning permission for a new canal arm of approximately 2.6 km in length, extending northwards from the town centre to connect to the existing Grand Union Canal at a point approximately 1.2 km south east of Braunston tunnel.

Since initial submission of the planning application there have been further design amendments to satisfy requirements from the Canal and River Trust and Northamptonshire County Council.

The Council is proposing to update the planning submission by amending aspects of the planning application and clarifying the design arrangements for the water resources and any impacts and mitigation required.

These design changes require updates to the planning application Design and Access Statement.

There is also a need to update the Environment Statement, Flood Risk Assessment and Planning Statement The Council is inviting tenders for the provision of experienced consultants to review the planning application for: • Design of systems and structures associated with water supply and maintenance and further evaluation of measures that are required to mitigate possible impacts of the proposals on both existing and additional items as required to support the planning application. • Updating all supporting documents in line with changes in planning policy, legislation, statutory requirements & design updates since the initial planning application was submitted in 2011 to the requirements of the Local Planning Authority (LPA).

The Council is using Due North web-based service to manage this process.

There will be no hard copy documents issued and all communications with the Authority including submission of Potential Providers’ responses will be conducted via the Portal which is located at: www.lgssprocurementportal.co.uk.

The tender can be accessed at reference A3GH-6HMFK2.
