Guilsborough Academy is a secondary school situated in the rural village of Guilsborough on the Northamptonshire / Leicestershire border.

The school converted to academy status in 2011 and formed a Multi Academy Trust with Naseby Church of England Primary Academy in 2014.

The tender project is seeking to appoint a Supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for the school.

The high quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff.

The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful Supplier to operate to at all times, is being able to provide schools that are fit for purpose and that the Supplier is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification.

The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1.3.2019 until 28.2.2022 with an option to extend for a further 2 years subject to approval of the Trust.

The contract will be fixed price in nature, with the Supplier invoicing the Client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis.

It should be noted that the successful Supplier will be expected to bring to the contract: - innovation, - new equipment, and - cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.

It should also be noted that these schools are rural and Suppliers are expected to ensure staffing is sufficient at all times.

At present the cleaning staff structure is: - 1 cleaning supervisor, - 1 assistant supervisor, - 6 cleaning operatives, - 7 x 6th formers with varied shifts patterns.

The current incumbent is Birkin cleaning services.

There are not any incumbent members of cleaning staff who are members of the LGPS.

The value of the current contract is: - Guilsborough Academy: 100 000 GBP + VAT, - Naseby CofE Primary School: 5 400 GBP + VAT.

It should be noted that this Trust may grow in size and any further schools joining the Trust over the course of this contract may, with the agreement of the Trust, be included into this contract.
