Southport Air Show requires an Air Display Management Company to deliver all aspects of a professional flying display based over the seafront.
The successful organisation will be expected to provide the following: 1.
Act as the CAA authorised Flying Display Director and ensure safety compliance in accordance with CAP 403 (Flying Displays: A Guide to Safety Arrangements).
Select high calibre and well qualified members for the Flying Control Committee.
2.
Obtain permission under the provisions of Article 162 of the Air Navigation Order to hold the air show having ensured air and ground compliance with CAP 403 and appropriate military requirements.
3.
Negotiate airspace reservation.
Set up an Air Traffic Control Plan and maintain a close working relationship with neighbouring airfields on air show related matters.
4.
Obtain a special event Air/Ground radio frequency in liaison with the CAA/OFCOM.
5.
Provide an Air/Ground radio service to participating display and visiting aircraft with suitably qualified and display experienced operators.
6.
Provide a written brief for display participants and give oral briefings on show days.
7.
Produce and coordinate an aircraft movements plan including engineering, operational and administrative requirements for Airport and organising staff.
8.
Retain appropriate civilian performers to provide a balanced programme with known military participation and within budget constraints.
9.
Check specialist insurance permits to fly, display authorisations and after due consideration of all aspects advise on suitability for inclusion in the flying programme.
10.
Maintain a close working relationship with other organising staff to assist the smooth running of the operation.
11.
Attend pre and post display meetings with the Event Organisers as reasonably requested.
12.
Maintain close watch on domestic arrangements for participating crews and ground support functions including emergency and ground planning.
13.
Real time coordination of the air display responding to prevailing weather, operational conditions and safety requirements.
