The National Lottery Community Fund (the Community Fund) has an international funding programme targeting funding to enable disabled people to improve their livelihoods in Uganda and Tanzania (including Zanzibar). £6-10 million per year is available for this programme which is expected to run until 2021 and beyond.
A range of UK-based International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) are funded to work with local partners in these countries in pursuit of these outcomes over the life of the programme.
To date a total of £9.2m has been awarded to 23 projects through 17 UK-based organisations, working with 24 local partners.
A pipeline of applicant organisations is currently going through the assessment process, some of which have been awarded development funding.
