The project intends to support the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine (MDT) in furthering the Innovation Strategy of Ukraine, (December of 2023), which aims to build business-enabling regulations and policy measures to boost innovations and the development of the tech sector.

The project is a stepping-stone to prepare the ground for longer-term work in the next financial year.

Its major focus is on strengthening evidence-based policymaking through rigorous analysis and awareness-building activities to engage the private sector, civil society, and academia in developing government policies to support innovations.

To achieve this, the project will focus on the following products: • Building a cross-stakeholder dialogue platform to discuss the objectives, approaches, and policy directions of the GoU upcoming Innovation Strategy of Ukraine; • Producing a set of sectoral assessments and policy recommendations on advancing the GoU strategic objective to boost the role of tech as the engine of national recovery and economic development; • Conducting a feasibility assessment, which outlines a draft concept of establishing the Governmental Innovation Agency including the functions of the Agency and general setup; • Hosting tech workshops aimed at developing innovative and commercially attractive solutions suitable for the Ukrainian and British markets.
