The brief

The Authority submits annual bids to the Department for Transport for approximately £75,000 in order to deliver national standard cycle training to children during 2016/17.

The Authority will use this funding to train an estimated target number of 1,700 children in years 5/6 at primary schools in Bolton to Bikeability level 2 national cycle training standard (?the Services?).

Subject to the bid for the grant being successful, this funding must be fully discharged during the -financial year.

The Executive Member for Environmental Services has approved that the prescribed training can be outsourced to an independent body, accredited to deliver national standard cycle training.

In awarding the grants the Department for Transport has emphasised that grant recipients must ensure value for money.

All Bikeability registered and accredited bodies are invited to submit proposals to undertake this work, by providing the information requested within the enclosed tender documents.
