It is envisaged that the chosen recruitment consultant will support DECC by undertaking tasks including, but not limited to, the following: ● Full understanding and compliance with the Compliance for Public Appointments Code of Practice for Ministerial appointments to public bodies (OCPA); ● Developing information packs including Job Specification and application documentation including diversity monitoring and political activities forms; ● Developing an advertising strategy, including the use of specialist publications, and drafting advertisements; ● Using a variety of resources to identify potential candidates and promote the appointments to ensure diverse pools of candidates with the professional backgrounds required; ● Contacting targeted individuals and organisations to make them aware of advertised appointments and providing confidential briefing on the appointments, if required; ● Providing weekly updates on progress during the advertising campaign; ● Maintaining diversity stats; ● Preparing a ‘long-list’ of applicants with pre-sift summaries and assessments; ● Attending sift panel’s short-listing meeting to answer questions and to provide feedback to candidates not taken forward; ● Informing unsuccessful candidates; ● Running preliminary assessment interviews, assess conflicts of interests, conduct internet searches to assess whether candidates have suitable background for the posts; ● Scheduling interviews; and ● Obtaining references for all candidates invited to interview.
