Request for Information (RFI) - Short break service for adults with learning disabilities
The Integrated Learning Disability Service (ILDS) are considering developing additional short break capacity within the city for adults with a learning disability.
We would like anticipated costings for a service in a property ideally in the south of Portsmouth.
It should provide 4 bedrooms for people staying there and a sleep-in facility for staff.
The people who attend the service will require 1:4 staff support so we foresee there to be only 1-2 staff being on site at any given time with normal sleep-in support at night.
Individuals will be referred to the service by the ILDS and will have an agreed amount of nights that they can use.
The provider will need to manage the allocation of nights in a fair and equitable manner that reflects choice but also ensures that overall demand can be managed.
Families will also be able to transfer "nights" into other non-residential support.
For example, a family may choose to transfer a "night" stay into 2 x 6 hour "visits" e.g., from 4pm to 10pm, etc.
We would welcome some indicative costs for running such a service, that includes accommodation costs, as a total and per "night" and "visit".
We would also welcome any thoughts or questions on how such a service could best be delivered.
