Phenotyping platform - plant water use efficiency by mass balance
This sits in the upper-middle of the Laboratory & Precision Equipment band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 9,869 valued Laboratory & Precision Equipment tenders in our corpus.
The University is inviting tenders for the provision of an integrated plant phenotyping platform.
The platform will measure plant water use efficiency using mass balance, integrated with control of fertigation regimes and measurement of microclimate.
It will be one component of a Centre for Photosynthetic Diversity, jointly supported by the University and the Wolfson Foundation.
The Centre is scheduled for scheduled for delivery by July 31st 2024, and may become part of a future UK phenotyping infrastructure.
The platform will be installed within a controlled environment facility, in parallel with an automated imaging system designed to capture leaf area development and leaf biochemistry.
The controlled environment facility and imaging system are tendered separately, and we anticipate a need for the platform supplier to work in concert with the manufacturers of these systems to ensure compatibility.
The location of the site is Bailrigg Campus, Lancaster, LA1 4YW.
There could be a requirement for further purchases, dependent on future funding.
Lancaster University reserves the right not to award a contract following this tender, nor does it bind itself to accept the lowest price or any quotation.
The contract awarded shall not be split in multiple suppliers to fulfil the options.
