The contract is for the replacement of recently removed play equipment (a large multi-unit) at Poolside in Horsehay, Telford and safer surfacing (using the Annual RoSPA report as guidance) together with the removal of the 2 existing 5 a side goalposts and safer surfacing and their replacement (including a replacement surface to prevent wear to the goalmouth). (The project costs are to be in the region of, but no more than (excluding VAT) £21,000 (twenty one thousand pounds) It is anticipated that the replacement multi-unit will be placed in the newly grassed area where the previous multi-unit was located, but will need to ensure that there is not a clash of activities caused by use of the 5 a side area and the potential for ball loss into the play area.
Activities to be provided for: The multi-unit should have the potential for social games and general socialising opportunities, climbing, balancing, hanging, scrambling, sliding, integrated play.
2 replacement five a side goals with backs to prevent ball loss into the surrounding area and replacement surfacing to prevent goalmouth wear and tear.
To cater primarily for children aged from 3-12 years of age The specification for ground works (including materials to be used) is to be included with this tender.
Equipment, surfacing and design must meet/exceed BSEN 1176 / BSEN 1177 compliance.
All equipment is to be firmly anchored to the ground by methods to the satisfaction of the Contract Administrator and have appropriate signage attached Prior to the official acceptance of the completed play area by the Contract Administrator, a post installation inspection will be undertaken by ROSPA on behalf of the Contract Administrator and at the expense of the Contractor.
