Kilkenny Country Park - Carpark Extension

The car park at Kilkenny Country Park is undersized, and cars regularly park along the road in front of the site at peak times.

This creates a hazard on the highway, and affects the amenity of the locality for local residents eg due to noise, vehicles parked on pavements etc.

To address this, the Council has prepared a scheme to expand the car parking facility.

This tender is for the civil engineering and related works to construct the expanded car park facility.

Briefly, the scope of work includes, but is not limited to: 1.

Site clearance, reduction of levels and removal off site of surplus material; 2.

Construction of vehicle and pedestrian pavement constructions to engineer's details, including tarmac and permeable paving constructions with stormwater attenuation within the sub base layer; 3.

Installation of associated kerbing, edging, construction of planted islands/ margins, timber kneerails, cycle parking and car park markings It is intended that the works will be commenced in Autumn 2022 (exact date TBA), with a contract period of 8 weeks.
