The brief

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea through the Climate Change Team would like to commission an organisation to deliver a home energy programme entitled “Warm Homes Support the Vulnerable”.

Therefore, the Council invites tenders from suitably and experienced organisations to deliver the new home energy visits scheme.

The project aims to provide support to RBKC residents vulnerable to cold homes and/or whose health and wellbeing is compromised by poor housing conditions and inefficient homes.

This will help to alleviate the negative impacts of cold weather, increase the level of warmth of those who are experiencing fuel poverty and to reduce their energy bills.

The project will also reduce the likelihood of cold related illness within the targeted households and will increase residents’ awareness of best energy tariffs using a range of promotion activities/services and behaviour change tips.

This will help the most vulnerable people in our borough to save energy, stay warm and well and feel more comfortable in their homes over the coldest months of the year.

Around 120 home energy efficiency visits and around 30 followed-up visits will be carried out in the first three months of 2016 in social housing properties by certified and neutral energy advisors.

The advisors will also help residents to use energy and water more efficiently in their homes.
