The brief

The authority proposes to engage in a competitive process to appoint a contractor for the provision of managing the Design and Build (including obtaining planning permission), installation and maintenance of the Solar PV carports, battery storage facility and EV chargers for the duration of the contact.

It is anticipated that the arrangement would last for a maximum of 25 years (subject to the provider's business case) and during this time the ownership of the equipment would sit with the provider until the end the contract term when all equipment would revert to the freeholders.

The installation would be paid for by the provider/tenderer on the basis that they would then enter into an agreement with Adur & Worthing Councils who would buy the energy produced from the sites for the duration of the contact at a price below the standard market rates.
