Three of South Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Groups ( Stafford and Surrounds CCG, Cannock Chase CCG and South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsular CCG) wish to invite prospective providers to express their interest for the provision of community based Vasectomy Service.
The aim of the service is to provide those patients who wish to have a vasectomy under Local Anaesthetic the choice of having their procedure undertaken within a local primary or community care setting closer to home.
The objectives of the service are: — To provide high quality, (in accordance with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist guidelines (RCOG)). cost effective, local community vasectomy services for patients registered with a GP practice registered within the named CCGs. — To provide services that comply with accepted best practice in line with national and local guidance, relevant accreditations processes, relevant guidelines in clinical practice and robust governance arrangements. — To provide a complete holistic service user focussed care package including pre and post-operative care, advice and information. — To ensure consistent and continuous care between health professionals, effective and efficient communication.
Service providers will need to provide CQC certification and must be registered for Surgical Procedures Regulated Activity at a specified premises location.
The CCGs need assurance of competence, quality and safety standards and Providers must be aware that a minimum of 40 procedures per year is required in order to maintain competency.
The successful providers will be required to sign the NHS Standard Contract for the service and accept all terms and conditions.
The CCG is looking to award the service to providers that meet the Any Qualified Provider standards.
Activity will be paid on a cost per case basis at a Local Tariff rate (As to be published in the specification).
There will be no guarantees of volume or payment in the contracts awarded.
