The Authority has identified the need to rethink our communications and marketing strategy and overall approach to the recruitment of firefighters.

We have introduced ambitious recruitment targets and our firefighter recruitment activity will be driven by a sustained approach to positive action.

Moving away from campaign based recruitment, we will focus our attention on generating a candidate pool that we will nurture through selection.

The assessment methods used for Firefighter recruitment need to be updated and there will be a range of exercises developed to ensure that we are able to fully assess the behaviours, skills and attributes required of the changing firefighter role.

The contract includes short term marketing and managing of interest via social media and sifting of applicants during the initial stage of selection utilising a number of bespoke tools.
