Cheshire East Council is committed through its statutory obligations and policies to continuously improve the quality of care and support services provided to adult service users.\r \r We are seeking to commission a provider(s) who can provide an innovative and person centred learning disabilities respite service in Cheshire East.
The service will be able to meet a variety of different support needs, ensure positive outcomes which add value to the lives of people with a learning disability and deliver efficiencies in the way that support is provided.\r \r • The service specification for Lots 1 and 2 is for the provision of accommodation-based respite support, within the Cheshire East area. \r \r • The service will provide accommodation and support for adults with a learning disability who may display behaviour that challenges, including those with associated mental health conditions, autism or physical disabilities.
The service(s) will be delivered at a building or buildings within easy access of the identified locations. \r \r • The service will be based on a short term supported living model and commissioned on a block contract basis (whether units are occupied or not) and not on usage. \r \r The Model\r \r We are seeking to commission two respite services in Cheshire East.\r Below are the requirements for each service/Lot.\r \r Lot 1 - North (Macclesfield and surrounding areas) - A total of 4 units of accommodation\r \r • 3 units would support planned respite.\r • 1 unit allocated for short term placements and emergency respite.\r • These would be semi self-contained units with bedroom, private bathroom, communal lounge.\r • All units would need to meet the needs of people with physical disabilities/wheelchair users.\r \r Service would have a core staffing of 2 people in the daytime, with 1 sleep in member of staff.\r • Assistive technology will also be used to improve outcomes and reduce costs.\r \r Lot 2- South (Crewe and surrounding areas) - A total of 2 units of accommodation\r \r • 2 self-contained units with bedroom, private bathroom, kitchen, lounge, with access to communal space.\r • This would be planned respite.\r • All units would need to meet the needs of people with physical disabilities/wheelchair users.\r • Service would have a core staffing of 1 person in the day with 1 shared sleep in member of staff.\r • Assistive technology will also be used to improve outcomes and reduce costs.\r \r Interested providers should express an interest in the opportunity and download all of the documentation provided on the Chest system, any queries should be asked here via the messaging area of the project.\r
