Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) are planning on commencing the procurement of the waste and recycling collections and street cleansing service over the next 6 month.
The current contracts are due to end in March 2026 and the procurement will be aiming to achieve mobilisation and service commencement under a new contract from April 2026.

The primary scope of works for the contract will include: For the Waste Collection this will include the collection of the following household wastes: • Residual waste • Mixed dry recycling • Food waste • Garden waste • Bulky waste • Clinical waste • Waste container deliveries For the Street cleansing this will include: • Street cleansing • Litter bin emptying • Fly tip collection • Flyposting & graffiti removal • Removal of dead animals • Weed management The contract is expected to be awarded in spring 2025, to allow for sufficient time for mobilisation.
