516 - Regulation 44 Visits
Wigan Council require a Regulation 44 independent visitor to undertake monthly monitoring visits.
The inspection visit will look at how the homes operate on a day-to-day basis as well as how needs are identified and met, all of which will be measured against the National Minimum standards for children's homes and children's home regulations.
There will be no formal base for this provision required.
There is an expectation of one visit per month to each of the homes listed within the Service Specification.
There is an expectation of a minimum of three hours audit activity in the home followed by the time expected of the visitor to produce the report.
Time will be available for comments and reflection following the initial receipt of the report.
The provider will have an existing audit tool in place for visits and the subsequent report.
This will be Quality Assured by the Responsible Individual / Service Lead for the residential homes.
