Advice and Guidance for Older People - AWARD
The Council invites quotations for the provision of Advice and Guidance for Older People.
After consultation with Adult Social Care (ASC) colleagues, it was identified that there are gaps in provision for support services such as benefits advice, financial advocacy and debt management.
These services were recognised to make the most significant difference to improving people's lives.
Local data also shows that residents over 55s are the main group of people who would require and benefit most from these services.
This project will provide residents over 55s advice and casework support on welfare benefits which leads to income maximisation, and other support including financial advocacy and debt management.
Exception can be made for vulnerable adults aged 18-55yrs on a case-by-case basis depending on the complexity their cases.
Those who are ineligible for the service, will be signposted to access information and advice via other locally or nationally available resources.
The advisers will work closely with the Croydon Adult Support team.
There is also an expectation for this service to develop and maintain integration with other LBC and other local services and to be responsive to the changing needs and demand of the targeted population.
Due to the nature of this service, the provider will be expected to be based in South West London. (See service specification for full details) The maximum length of the contract is 2 years commencing 01st October 2024.
