The brief

The long term strategic objective of Northamptonshire County Council (hereafter the Council) is to move away from residential care for older people and younger adults with care needs, and to develop a range of accommodation with care which enables and supports people to live independently in their own homes.

However due to the lack of forward planning, schemes have not been developed at the pace required to meet the increasing needs of Northamptonshire residents.

There is therefore a significant gap emerging between need, and the availability and standard of supply in the north of Northamptonshire.

This Expression of Interest (EOI) forms part of a wider strategic approach the Council is taking to address current gaps.

It follows on from our initial market research EOI in which we sought information from a range of commissioners and providers to inform our commissioning approach.

We are now progressing the next steps aligned to the strategic approach outlined above.

Northamptonshire County Council would like to hear from existing Registered Providers of Social Housing in Northamptonshire, new Registered Providers of Social Housing to Northamptonshire and developers who are partnering with Registered Providers who would be interested in providing this type of accommodation in the North of the County.

This EOI is published with a Prior Information Notice for Call for Competition.

This opportunity will enable Providers to be shortlisted for nomination agreements as per documentation published.

Please note that NCC reserves the right to only invite those that have submitted an EOI to any further Tender stage(s).

NCC reserves the right to directly award this contract to a single or multiple Providers.

This will be dependent on responses to the "Expression of Interest (EOI) Questionnaire".
