The brief

The footbridge currently present at this location is steel beamed with concrete block deck with timber handrails.

In addition, a masonry abutment from a historic structure is present on the eastern bank.

The footpath at this location is CH 14/11.

These works are to include: • Provision of photographic condition survey of bridge area and proposed access routes. • Provision of current mid soffit height to invert. • Removal of existing abutments and reprofiling of southern bank to an approximately 45⁰ gradient. • Stabilise reprofiled surfaces of southern bank using natural materials (e.g., rock rolls below water level and biodegradable geotextile above). • Install new standard concrete pads. • Supply and install 1No.

15m span standard steel framed/timber clad footbridge. • Install steps either side of bridge with timber handrails. • Install gates at either end of bridge.
