The brief

The CCG is seeking expressions of interest from providers who could provide a service as outlined in the attached specification.

The response will inform the CCG's procurement route.

Objectives of the service • Provide a secure, moderated website with online community features • Provide 80 hours a month of counsellors and moderation time to children and young people living in Wakefield aged 11-25 • Provide effective management oversight to the Online Counselling services • Provide an online service 7 days a week 365 days a year from 12noon to 10pm Monday to Friday and 6pm to 10pm Saturday and Sunday • Target sub-threshold CAMHS clients and offer early intervention to young people that are hard to engage through other routes • Use recognised assessment tools, and set clear outcomes with CYP using the service.

Use the CAF as a basis for recording discussions/activities and therapy content and to link with other services on the delivery pathway • Through the online service provide: - A chat function for a young person to ‘speak’ to someone.

Waiting times for this function will be recorded and reported to the CCG – a target wait of no more than ten minutes is expected - A messaging function for young people to contact the service - A range of forums, all of which are moderated, to offer young people an appropriate first point of entry - Live discussion groups - run by professionals and with all comments moderated, to enable groups of young people to interact with each other in a safe environment - An online magazine which includes opportunities for young people to submit their stories or write articles, all of which is moderated - Information and activities on the site for young people to download • Provide quarterly reports which measure demographics, usage, new registrations, feedback, outcomes and case studies and work with Wakefield services to develop a joint reporting mechanism on joint activities of the team so commissioners see the activity of the service as a whole • Ensure that pathways are in place for follow on referral work, signposting and safeguarding and to work closely with the CAMHS provider and Early Help offer locally to develop effective service pathways • Work closely with the Local Authority Social Care services to implement effective safeguarding and child protection procedures and referral process • Provide a trained qualified workforce experienced in working with CYP • Engagement / Integration work in schools and stakeholder engagement (social workers, YOT, CAMHs) to promote, educate and build working relationships between the services • Go into schools and colleges and other agencies to market the online counselling service and ensure that the service is universally known about, joined up but also works with targeted vulnerable groups of children and young people • Provide all publicity materials for the services and promote the service • Provide schools with termly newsletters
