The brief

The aim of this service is to identify and engage with carers to offer light-touch preventative support which promotes community resilience in difficult circumstances and partner with Leicester Carer Support Service to ensure that carers can overcome barriers to alleviate financial hardship and make claims for appropriate benefits.

To promote the mental wellbeing of carers by providing written materials in relation to the challenges of caring through winter and delivering an e-support package with key information and advice linking into existing local provision such as the Carer Passport.

To provide an online platform with automated online tools to support specific common queries such as carers allowance, blue badge eligibility and emergency planning.

To provide daily virtual sessions facilitated with other carers.

To support the City Council and partners to deliver the vision for carers as set out in the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Joint Strategy for Carers: 'Unpaid carers across Leicester City, Leicestershire & Rutland will be identified early, feel valued, respected and supported'
