The brief

The Isle of Wight Council (the authority) shall be commencing a procurement process in January 2023 for the provision of a Tier 2 Adult Behavioural Weight Management Service.

The new contract will commence on 1 July 2023.

The aim of the Service is to provide equitable, effective and evidence-based programmes to enable adults to achieve and sustain weight loss in order to benefit their current and future health.

The Service will be free of charge to all residents who meet the eligibility criteria.

The Authority intends for the Service to comprise of the following elements under one Service Provider: - Healthy weight administration and referral hub - Provision of information and signposting to appropriate national evidence-based resources (e.g.

NHS) for those identified as not ready to embark on behaviour change once triaged - Adult Tier 2 Weight Management service to include for those eligible (but not limited to) o Service 1: A face-to-face tier 2 weight management programme o Service 2: A digital weight management programme o Service 3: A tier 2 weight management programme with physical activity as a central component Please note the service structure above is subject to change.
